We are the Leaders  in Innovation.

W+H Lower School STEM

Changing Early Learning Experiences to Build Lifelong
Critical Thinking Skills
(Click headings to visit specific grade levels)

Science

Technology

Science concepts are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards. Project based approaches foster educational experiences that teach children to question, to think, and to effectively communicate ideas. These targets contribute to the formation of our future W+H global scholars.

Engineering

The Engineering curriculum has a strong focus on creating solutions to problems while teaching the Design Process.  Introductions to computer science and robotics build on this process.  Classrooms where children can tinker, take things apart, design and create are supported by explanations of various engineering disciplines.
Technology-based learning is coupled with
interaction, conversation, and support to move
students from consumption to curation using
multimedia  platforms.  Various technologies are introduced and explored, while best practices are
shared with regard to keeping our students safe
and secure in a digital world

Math

Teaching mathematics during authentic project
based experiences helps children appreciate it as
a universal tool of scientific discovery and
engineered innovation.  Our goal is to
help children
apply math learning to the world around them and connect it meaningfully to other STEM disciplines.
Check out what we are up to in The Lower School
at  Wardlaw+Hartridge, Edison, NJ.

We take the opportunity to strengthen whole-child educational experiences by bringing
age- appropriate, challenging, creative, and
content-rich STEM learning to young children.

All the Tools You Need to Succeed

"The positive environment promotes learning and creates a place where the student body wants to achieve. The teachers are supportive and classes are engaging and interesting. W+H instilled in me a love of learning."- CLIFF O’BRIEN ’14

"Wardlaw + Hartridge has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Wardlaw + Hartridge has taught me a multitude of lessons, but the one that has resonated with me was that as a student I have a responsibility to be inquisitive and globally aware." - CAMILLE MENNS ’15

"The teachers are so invested in caring deeply about each of their students and helping them learn and grow and excel in a way you won’t find elsewhere." - JOANNE JACOBSON, PARENT

"W+H has a special place in my heart. There I learned that there are no boundaries. It is the culture of personal care at W+H that really makes it special; the environment fosters learning and encourages students to stretch beyond their comfort zones. Looking back, I could not have asked for a more valuable high school experience."- ASTITVA SONI ’16
