JK learned about how animals survive in winter. Then they made some caves for the animals that hibernate.
PreK tested the melting properties of salt and sugar on ice snowmen.
Halloween wouldn't be complete without some candy experiments! We talked about scientists and how they use experiments to test hypothesis! Which will dissolve candy corn faster; hot water or cold water?
JK continued our discussion on building with shapes by creating 2D shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks!
Using basic shapes, we created several items based on an image. A submarine, house, ice cream cone, and a truck!
Even our JK students start out with the basics of directional coding. After they master moving the mouse around the board, they begin learning the basics of writing a program. By using color-coded directional cards that match the coding commands for the robots, even our pre-readers are able to learn to write code!
